“I Trouble”
Today is Ash Wednesday, a day set aside for fasting, penance and reflection, by many all over the world. The latest information from Associated Press released this week says 76% of Americans consider themselves Christian. That’s seems high but I’m sure the pollsters would know. In a survey conducted by Scripps Howard News Service and Ohio University, said Thirty Eight percent of Americans report they have observed Lent in the past and have made changes in their personal lifestyles. Charlotte and I have a painting in our home; some of you have seen it.
It is by Howard Terpning and is called Grandfather speaks (click here to view this painting).
There are two children listening to grandfather tell the old story, they are totally captivated as he speaks, sitting in front of the fires glow. Sitting next to grandfather is grandmother.
