Office help needed for Thursdays and fill-ins
Office volunteers are needed to answer phones and greet visitors at the door. We currently need assistance on Thursdays from 10-Noon. Fill-in times would be either Tuesday or Thursday from 10-Noon, or Wednesdays from 2-4pm. You can volunteer to assist weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or as an occasional fill in. For more information, call Diane Emerson, or you can call Heidi in the office at 442-1797.

Window of Time Committee
Window of Time is a program for our church members to help other members with short-term tasks (small household job, yard work, animal care, grocery shopping, etc.). Stop by the Welcome Table after service today to talk with a committee member and complete your volunteer form. It is our hope that we can begin assisting each other this fall with these small tasks.

Open Chapel
Have you noticed the sign on H Street during lunch time? On Fridays, from Noon to 1pm, through August, the chapel and garden are open for meditation, prayer and a peaceful place to bring a lunch and enjoy this sacred space.

Introduction to Godly Play
Saturday, August 21st, from 10am – 2pm in the Heritage Room, guest speaker Diane Bamforth will introduce and present several stories from the Godly Play Program. Everyone is invited to see how these wonderful stories are presented to our Church School Children using beautiful hand-made materials. Please sign up in Heritage Hall. Lunch will be provided. For more information contact Vickie Patton.

An Altar In the World, a geography of Faith
Fr. Ron will be leading conversations Tuesdays, August 24 and 31, on Barbara Brown Taylors new book, An Altar in the World, a geography of Faith. In these conversations we will discover meaningful ways to discover the sacred in the small things we do and see, from simple practices such as walking, working and prayer. We will look at simple ways to live with purpose, pay attention, slow down and revere the world we live in.
This book discussion will meet in the Chapel at 12:00-1:00, repeated again 6:30-7:30 that day. Please sign up at the kiosk if you would like a copy ordered for purchase.

‘Life in the Kingdom of God’: The Gospel of Luke in Pentecost 2
A 13-week series to study and reflect on the Sunday Gospel readings during the second part of Pentecost will be held in the chapel on Thursday afternoons 4:00 – 5:00pm. The Series begins on Thursday, August 26 and will run through Thursday, November 18. Each session will be followed by a 20 minute Evening Prayer service beginning at 5:00pm. For more information, see the August Chronicle article or contact Nancy Streufert.

‘Sundays at 4’ Concert August 29
Christ Church Concert Series presents its final ‘Sundays at 4’ concert for the season on August 29th at 4:00pm, featuring vocal music accompanied by organ. Soprano Elizabeth Rau will perform various settings of the Lord’s Prayer text, accompanied by Greg Granoff on organ.
